MEET KATY

Katy (she, her, hers) believes in providing practical and positive coaching to individuals who are seeking support and guidance through their next career transition. Starting or changing careers can be a challenging endeavor! Katy seeks to offer helpful tools and education on career change and job search strategies, trouble-shooting areas where clients may be getting “stuck” in their process and helping clients stay on track with their goals. Katy believes that the power of coaching lies in empowering clients with tools and resources that will benefit them not just in their current transition, but for the rest of their career.

Katy has spent the majority of her professional life in Business Administration and Human Resources across the for-profit and non-profit sectors. In her HR roles, she has sought to bridge the gap between management and employees, bringing empathy and transparency to the employee’s experience of the HR function. She has sought roles that allow her to support employees holistically, advocating for employee wellness and morale.

Katy also works part-time as a Career Transition Consultant for Lee Hecht Harrison, the largest career transition firm in the world. In this role, Katy provides one-on-one coaching to individuals receiving outplacement services. She guides clients through every aspect of their career transition, offering support in career planning, skills development, job search techniques, networking, interviewing and salary negotiation.

Katy has her BA in Humanities with an emphasis in English Literature. She received her HR Management Certificate from California State University of Fullerton (CA) in 2016 and the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) designation in 2017. She is also trained in mediation and crisis counseling.

When Katy is not working with clients, you can find her walking her neighborhood, hiking, taking a road trip, curled up on the couch (or anywhere, really) reading a good book, pondering life’s mysteries with her gal pals, or teaching yoga (RYT 200).
